Evergreen Cemetery
The City Public Works department is also responsible for the grounds upkeep and maintenance for Evergreen Cemetery. According to city records, Evergreen Cemetery was established in 1858 and is located on Cemetery Street. The cemetery is open to the public.

Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission has jurisdiction to review and approve or disapprove plans for any structure in a historic district or a structure in any district designated as a historic structure in the Zoning ordinance proposed to be constructed, altered, relocated, demolished, partially demolished or proposed to have the exterior architectural character altered. Applications may be obtained from the Chester County Planning Department. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. Each member serves a 4 year term.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission of the City of Chester is responsible for the reviewing proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance for the City of Chester including determination of whether the proposed amendment is in conformity with the comprehensive plan of the City.
